2016 Honda Civic 1.5-Liter Turbo Four

2016 Honda Civic 1.5-Liter Turbo Four
The new 2016 Civic Sedan is nearly 2 inches wider (albeit 1 inch lower) with a 1.2-inch longer wheelbase than the existing model, yet it’s 68 pounds (31kg) lighter than before. Honda says that it offers an additional 3.7 cubic feet of interior space with 2 inches of extra rear-seat legroom, while trunk space has been increased by 2.6 cubic feet (73 liters) – but it’s not clear if this number is based on regular measurements or the slightly / grossly deceiving SAE methodology.
The new chassis features a revamped strut front suspension and a new multi-link rear suspension mounted to an ultra-rigid rear subframe, while other notable changes include variable gear ratio steering, beefier front and rear stabilizer bars, standard 4-wheel disc brakes and the application of Honda's Agile Handling Assist brake-torque vectoring technology.
\Torsional rigidity of the new body is improved by 25 percent, thanks in part to the more intensive use of ultra-high-strength steel (12 percent vs 1 percent).
And oh, during the presentation of the Civic, Marie said that the compact model will be "super fun to drive", but that's something we'll have to see for ourselves.
On the equipment front, the Civic will introduce a few novelties such as optional LED headlights and a 7-inch high-definition Display Audio touchscreen for Honda's Android-based infotainment system that works with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while standard features have been improved throughout the range.
Speaking of force-fed mills, one of the two new launch engines on the 2016 Civic Sedan is a 1.5-liter direct-injected and turbocharged 16-valve inline-4, mated to a CVT – the first turbo'd engine on a U.S. Honda model. It will be available in EX-T, EX-L trims and Touring trims. According to Honda exec Sage Marie, this unit will produce around "30hp" more than the current 1.8L unit, which puts it to 173hp.
The other engine is a 2.0-liter i-VTEC 4-cylinder for the base LX, which Marie said will be the most powerful base engine ever offered on Civic producing 15hp more at 158hp. Buyers will be able to choose between a 6-speed manual or continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT).

K2 Black Panther Main Battle

Rotem introduced the vehicle along with its wheeled armoured vehicles and unmanned weapon systems at the Seoul Aerospace and Defence Exhibition (ADEX) at the Seoul Airport in Seongnam City, Kyeonggi Province, in October 2009. The tank is expected to enter into service in 2014.

The K2 Black Panther is a new type of high tech battle tank and will replace K1 series of vehicles and M48 tanks. The new MBT features enhanced mobility and fire power compared to the K1 vehicles, and is regarded as one of the best main battle tanks in the world.

The K2 Black Panther development

The K2 MBT design was completed in 2006. Rotem signed a co-operation agreement in March 2011 with the subcontractors of K2 MBT and provided KRW12.8bn ($12m) to solve the financial difficulties caused by delays in the mass production of the vehicles.
K1A1 Main Battle Tank
Rotem signed a contract with the subcontractors in November 2011 to offer emergency operating funds totalling KRW3bn ($2.65m). The mass production of K2 MBTs was further delayed due to technical defects in engines and transmission.

In July 2008, Rotem signed a technology cooperation deal with Otokar to provide technology systems of the K2 MBT for the development of Turkey's Altay Main Battle Tank. The first prototype of the Altay MBT is expected to be ready by 2015.

Sensors and other systems of K2 Black Panther

The K2 Black Panther is equipped with auto target detection and tracking system, and hunter killer function. It also features electric gun and turret driving system (28-260VDC) provided by Doosan Corporation Mottrol.

The gunner's primary sight (GPS) and commander's panoramic sight (CPS) are stabilised in two axes, and include a thermal imager and laser rangefinder enabling day / night observation.

The vehicle is fitted with an air-conditioning system and embedded training and built-in test system. The navigation system consists of a global positioning system and an inertial navigation system. The K2 MBT also has a battlefield management system connected with the C4I system.

Self-protection of the South Korean MBT

The K2 MBT is fitted with Composite Armour and Explosive Reactive Armour (ERA). It also consists of a collective nuclear, biological and chemical (NBC) protection system. The ammunition compartment is equipped with a blow-off panel for protecting the crew against the explosion of ammunition.

F-35 Joint Strike Fighter

F-35 Joint Strike Fighter
F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program continues to accrue criticism over cost and schedule overruns and missed milestones, the U.S. Navy is looking to an old standby—the Boeing-built F/A-18 Super Hornet—to plug potential holes in its airborne fleet. The Navy’s unfunded “wish list,” headed to lawmakers’ desks this week, includes 12 Boeing-built F/A-18 fighter jets alongside eight Lockheed Martin F-35Cs. Each purchase would be worth roughly $1 billion for the companies—if Congress decides to fund them.
A great news for Boeing  BA -0.33% , whose F/A-18 production line is set to cease production in 2017 if the company receives no new orders. But a decision on whether to spend the company’s own cash on long-lead production materials like titanium will have to be made this summer, before Congress finalizes its fiscal 2016 budget. A strong signal from the Navy and Congress now could play a big role in that decision.
Source of image :http://fortune.com/2015/03/28/us-navy-boeing-fighter-jets/
Republicans in the Senate last week introduced a non-binding resolution to the budget adding an additional $38 billion to the overseas contingency operations (OCO) fund that the Senate Budget Committee had originally seeded with $58 billion. (OCO funds are those designated for ongoing military operations overseas and not subject to sequestration caps) That extra $38 billion in OCO funds dovetails conspicuously with the $561 billion base budget put forth by the Obama administration, which exceeded the defense budget’s $523 spending cap by—wait for it—$38 billion dollars.House Republicans passed a similar budget, with $96 billion set aside in the Pentagon’s OCO fund. These budgets are not the final word on the fiscal 2016 budget, but they are the working blueprint. And though this so-called “sequester dodge” has drawn criticism even from some Republicans on Capitol Hill—Sen. John McCain called it a “gimmick”—they are a clear indicator of which way the wind is blowing. The defense hawks are beating the fiscal hawks in this round of negotiations, and the proposed “dodge”—along with a provision slipped into last week’s Senate budget that could allow for the altering of some sequestration—suggests the Pentagon could get more of what it wants. But the Navy’s vocal support for a batch of new F/A-18s coupled with the fact that the Pentagon may end up with some extra funds provides hope for the Super Hornet. And there’s good reason for the Pentagon to keep the F/A-18 production line going. Sustaining the F/A-18 would keep its cousin, the E/A-18 Growler, alive as well. The Growler, an electronic warfare variant of the Super Hornet built around the same airframe, does a very specific job that many think the F-35 isn

USSV Rhino XT at the 2015

USSV Rhino XT at the 2015

The cosmetic updates, USSV designers have gotten a bit angry and aggro, giving the XT a highly aggressive look with massive, riveted flared fenders, rugged bumpers, reinforced FRP body panels, and designer tow hooks. The 35-in tires on/off-road tires around 20 x 10-in aluminum wheels add to the tough, angry look, and a redesigned heavy-duty roll cage helps keep it all together.
Rhino XT rides extra-rugged on the outside but comfy and sophisticated inside. The interior package includes USSV-badged premium leather seats, a "European style" dashboard, leather-trimmed door panels, 3D-look digital instrument panel, Alpine navigation system, back-up camera view, chrome trim and leather-wrapped steering wheel, among other enhancements.
USSV Rhino XT at the 2015 LA Auto Show
The Rhino XT is strictly a cosmetic package, and the mechanicals remain stock, which means the 285-hp 3.6-liter V6 engine, five-speed automatic transmission, Trac-Lok differential rear axle and 3.73 axle ratio. It also features electronic stability control, roll mitigation, and front and rear sway bars.
The Rhino XT wears a mean set of fender flares
November has been a big month for the Rhino XT. USSV debuted it at the SEMA Show, opened up reservations, and is currently showing it again at the LA Auto Show. Complete vehicle pricing starts at US$75,445.
The Rhino GX features leather trim and wood veneers
The Rhino XT definitely gives the Wrangler a tough alternative look, but we can't help but feel that the package should include some extra power or capability to go along with its muscular body kit, or at least be based on a higher-spec Wrangler like the Rubicon. As it is, it seems like an awful lot of bark without the matching bite.

Lexus LF-FC Concept

The LF-FC moves closer to reality, today the powertrain is strictly theoretical. That “FC” part of the name stands for “fuel cell,” and while Toyota has a production fuel-cell vehicle in the Mirai, that car does not resemble what is described here. Lexus says the LF-FC uses two in-wheel electric motors in the front, with a larger electric drive motor in the rear. This gives the car four-wheel drive, as well as allowing for a torque-vectoring system. (Think the Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel Drive in the Acura NSX.) The LF-FC’s fuel cell is mounted under its hood, with a battery pack in the rear of the car, above its rear motor. Hydrogen tanks reside in the space normally occupied by the driveshaft and under the rear seats.
Image result for Lexus LF-FC Concept
From the bottom lip of the front fascia, mere inches above the tarmac, to headlamp level, the chain-link-esque design would eat up the hood if it grew any larger. As with the rest of the Lexus product line, some will find beauty in it; others will see a big fish mouth with barbed daytime running lamps resembling hooks stuck in its vertical air-intake gills. Profile views suit the car best, where its enormous 208.7-inch length and short overhangs give it proportions befitting a top-tier luxury car. Certainly the low 55.5-inch height, 21-inch carbon-fiber wheels, and sculpted fenders create the illusion that Lexus has wrapped its metal skin tightly around a muscular mechanical package.

Jaguar C-X17 Sports

Jaguar C-X17 Sports
A new flexible all-aluminum architecture that’ll be used to underpin future Jaguars, the C-X17 is about the size of the Audi Q5 and the BMW X3. The fascia unmistakably comes from Ian Callum’s pen, with a nose that is meant to evoke the XJ’s, but the rest of the C-X17’s design is unexceptional. That’s not to say it’s an unattractive car, but the side profile could be from Mazda or a number of other automakers, and the gaping air intakes below the headlights only make the front look taller than it needs to. There is, at least, much to like in the F-type–style taillights. Perhaps it’s because we’ve had two years to daydream since Jaguar executives first mentioned a crossover, but overall we had been expecting something more, well, interesting.Beyond the usual concept-car fluff, Jaguar has very little to say about the C-X17. There’s no discussion of powertrains for this particular vehicle, but Jaguar is describing its future as being one of supercharged V-6 and forced-induction four-cylinder engines, all of which would be appropriate for a vehicle this size. (V-8s should stick around for the next several years, but whether one will slot into the Jag crossover is an unknown.) All-wheel drive is, of course, included, and we’d expect that system to join the rest of the underpinnings in being oriented towards on-road sportiness, not off-roading.

Jaguar F-Pace 2017 Concept

Jaguar F-Pace
Previewed by the C-X17 concept from two years ago and with very little changed for production, the F-Pace looks something like a cross between Jaguar’s F-type coupe or XE sedan and a Range Rover Evoque, which is no bad thing. If there’s one skill at which Jaguar excels, it’s design, and this first-ever crossover is no exception. With its low, sleek roof and assertive lines, the F-Pace does genuinely look sporty without being polarizing or too extreme. The aesthetic dynamism is driven home by the F-Pace’s long, 113.1-inch wheelbase; optional 22-inch wheels; and LED lighting assemblies. For reference, the F-Pace is 3.7 inches longer, 1.5 inches wider, and 0.4 inch taller than an Audi Q5, and it rides on a wheelbase that’s 2.6 inches longer than that German ute.
V-6, V-6, Diesel
As we reported in May, the F-Pace gets its motivation from either a supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 or a 2.0-liter diesel four-cylinder. The former produces 340 horsepower at 6500 rpm and 332 lb-ft of torque at 4500 rpm, while the diesel produces 180 horsepower at 4000 rpm and 317 lb-ft of torque from 1750 to 2500 rpm. Additionally, there will be an F-Pace S model, which will use the supercharged V-6 but in a 380-horse state of tune (torque and output peaks remain the same).

The aluminum V-6’s Roots-type supercharger is nestled in the 90-degree cylinder vee, which optimizes packaging. The engine is the same one currently seeing duty in the F-type and F-type S; Jaguar says it can scoot the basic F-Pace to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds and the S to 60 in 5.1.

In the case of the diesel—which is a member of Jag’s Ingenium engine family—the zero-to-60-mph sprint is said to take 8.2 seconds, but its ample torque should make it a willing partner around town and it ought to deliver significantly higher fuel economy. Both the four and the V-6 feature fully aluminum construction.

Luxury Trappings
Inside the cabin of the F-Pace, things are more or less as expected. It’s a modern luxury vehicle with seating for five, and it comes complete with all the typical gadgetry. Of note is the new InControl Touch 8.0-inch touch-screen infotainment system, which comes standard on all models. It handles entertainment and vehicle settings, as well as navigation duties. Opting for the InControl Touch Pro version bumps the screen size to 10.2 inches, at which point it acts like a fixed tablet and replaces many of the car’s manual controls. In addition to some cool navigation features—like dead reckoning when there’s no GPS signal—the system brings along an 825-watt sound system that features 17 speakers. Both of these infotainment systems are designed to work in conjunction with Jaguar’s InControl Apps for mobile devices. The final gadget worth mentioning is the new Activity Key, a waterproof, shockproof wristband that’s intended to allow you to leave your traditional fob in the car while doing whatever. Because active lifestyle.
The F-Pace will hit dealerships in early 2016. Pricing for the two gasoline models begins at $43,385 and $57,695; the diesel will be the price leader and start at $41,985 when it arrives later in 2016. In addition to the F-Pace and F-Pace S models, there will be Premium, Prestige, R-Sport, and First Edition trim levels available, the last of which will be limited to the first year and essentially is an F-Pace S with special aesthetic tweaks that include silver paint, 22-inch wheels, and an interior treatment influenced by the C-X17 concept.
With its emphasis on sportiness and panache, the F-Pace will do direct battle with the likes of the Porsche Macan, the BMW X4, and the Mercedes-Benz GLC, as well as the aforementioned Evoque and Q5. Traditional market stalwarts like the Lexus RX and the Acura MDX also come in at similar prices, although they offer a more mature take on the full-size SUV, targeting a different demographic.

BMW X6 M

 BMW X6 M

As a successor to the original X6 M, BMW clearly was focused on the numbers, which are downright amazing. For starters there’s that 60-mph sprint, which takes just 3.7 seconds. Or put the X6 M on a drag strip where it will run the quarter-mile in 12.1 seconds at 115 mph. Both outpace the Mercedes-AMG GLE63 S coupe, the X6 M’s new archrival. It takes the X6 M a tick or two for its twin turbochargers to start force-feeding all 4.4 liters of V-8, but once they do, the 567 peak horsepower pushes you back in the seat like an NFL running back’s stiff-arm. The new eight-speed automatic clicks through the gears until the X6 M reaches a governed top speed of 160 mph.
Skidpad performance is perhaps the most awe-inducing, at 1.01 g. All that grip is generated thanks to some of the largest rolling stock available outside of the supercar realm: 10-inch-wide front wheels shod with extra-load Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires sized 285/35ZR-21 and 11.5-inch-wide rear wheels wearing 325/30ZR-21s. Those tires also help haul the X6 M to a stop from 70 mph in only 152 feet. That’s on par with BMW’s own M3, which weighs 1600 pounds less. In fact, all of the X6 M’s test numbers are roughly equivalent to those of BMW’s compact performance sedan.M-badged sibling, the X6 M shares some of that car’s shortcomings. Steering feel in the SUV is similarly lacking, although with differing expectations given its much larger size, the calibration here is actually more appropriate. The engine sound, however, is just as artificial as in other BMW M products that use the company’s pipe-it-in-through-the-stereo technology. While we don’t expect a turbocharged V-8 to sound as good as a flat-plane-crank V-8 any more than we expect it to sound like a flathead V-8, the engine in the X6 M doesn’t sound much like a V-8 at all.
For the  a $103,050 base price, the X6 M’s window sticker is as extravagant as its test sheet. Save the snarky jokes about this being a “German Aztek”—they weren’t all that funny when the first X6 showed up nearly a decade ago. And today, when the automotive world has gone all-in on both horsepower and crossovers, what can we expect but things like the X6 M? This sort of automotive indulgence has never made much sense, but that’s exactly the point.

Honda NSX Concept

Honda NSX Concept

With a price expected to land north of £120,000 in the UK, the Honda NSX is going to seem a world apart in a showroom full of sub-£30,000 family cars and runabouts, but it shows how technology is trickling down. What was once exclusively hypercar tech will eventually be in a Jazz. The NSX is a mid-point stopover.
One rung up is Sport mode, which is for HR-V drivers who have just won the lottery. The steering is very fast but much too light in this mode, and it can become tricky to plot a smooth and accurate course at high speeds. But if you like to take calls on your traffic-laden slog into the office, this is the commuting mode.
For distraught engineers corrected that problem and the rest of the time the NSX revealed itself to be a mid-engined track slayer very much in the Japanese bushido mode of quiet but swift competence. Honda has been out of the sports car arena for some time, so it’s good to see the company back in the game.
All that hardware plus a lithium ion battery pack, magnetorheological suspension and lots of computers are stuffed into an aluminum spaceframe under a bodyshell of purposeful angularity and many heat-exchanger holes.

Switching to Sport-Plus finally brings appropriate steering heft and rotates the virtual rev counter to put the redline closer to high noon. Honda doesn’t give you à la carte control, as you get with Audi’s Individual setting or BMW’s many mode buttons. That’s a pity. The NSX would benefit from customisable settings so drivers can have what they want in any mode.
Image result for Honda NSX
Track mode is where the NSX fully reveals itself as a McLaren 570S hunter, especially if you’re driving on the optional (but short-lived) Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres. The rabid acceleration out of corners is the most noticeable benefit of the hybrid system, as the front motors help to tug the 1725kg car up to silly speeds. Our car had optional carbon-ceramic brakes; pedal response is firm and the braking force is minutely adjustable.

The lump intruding into the single small boot at the rear of the car is the new nine-speed transmission, developed specifically for the NSX to be as short as possible to centralise the mass. You can shift it manually with paddles, but it’s easy to get lost in the maze of short ratios and the engine spins so energetically to the redline that triggering the limiter is a frequent nuisance.

There are none of the prominent shift lights that you get on a Ferrari. Instead, the revcounter simply flashes red when you’re close to the end, a distinction you can easily miss if your eyes are fixed on the road.
So it’s best to leave the transmission in Drive and let the computer handle it. In Track mode, we never found the programming wanting, the car always in the right gear to make the magic happen. As with so many elements of the NSX, this is a hint of the future, when all transmission control will come down to a couple of buttons.

Honda didn’t want the steering wheel to squirm in your hands, so it has gone for a GT-style approach in which the steering filters out most of the impacts, letting just enough data through to provide a sense of the g-forces. Even so, on the standard Continental ContiSportContact tyres, the understeer is pronounced.

The Ohio-based engineering and test team say some push is deliberate, a nod to the wide range of driving abilities expected. As you go up the mode ladder to Track, the understeer diminishes as the torque vectoring ramps up. In Track, on the optional Michelins and with the hovering stability control turned off, the NSX feels like it’ll run with all the cars in its price class, from a Porsche 911 Turbo to an Audi R8.

Mazda RX-Vision rotary-engine

Mazda RX-Vision rotary-engine

Mazda president and CEO Masamichi Kogai confirmed: “One day rotary will make a comeback. This gives form to our brand's vision of the future. It expresses our intention to make rotary. There are many issues to overcome but we will continue our efforts. We're working steadily. Keep your eyes on Mazda.
For the heart of the RX-Vision is an all-new next-generation rotary engine called SkyActiv-R, an engine which is said to solve three key issues with previous rotary engines: fuel economy, emissions and reliability. However, Mazda has yet to reveal the specifics.

The RX-Vision measures 4389mm long by 1925mm wide, with a height of 1160mm and a wheelbase of 2700mm. Those dimensions make it marginally longer and wider than Jaguar’s F-Type coupé sports car, and significantly lower, something the compact nature of the rotary engine has allowed.

The concept car sits on a unique SkyActiv rear-wheel drive platform, unrelated to the Mazda MX-5. For production, the new RX-7 is likely to be smaller than the concept car, and will be targeted at the Porsche Cayman.

Mazda RX-7 revisited - driving the original king of spin

Fujiwara would not mention specifics on engine capacity or performance, but the Cayman reference indicates a power output of around 300bhp. Fujiwara confirmed that turbocharging and hyrbidisation are being considered. However, the latter is considered less likely as it is a greater technical challenge.

While Fujiwara wouldn’t mention engine specs, he did confirm that efficiency now matches that of a typical petrol engine without any electrical assistance. He said that breakthroughs in computer simulation and prototype making has allowed Mazda to more accurately study the combustion cycle of a rotary engine and change it accordingly, including even the shape of the engine.

He added: “Based on the things we’ve been studying there is still room for more modifications.”

This research has also allowed Mazda to improve the torque output of the rotary engine, as well as economy and reliability.

For the transmission, Fujiwara said that a manual gearbox would be his preferred option, but a dual-clutch gearbox might be required should the performance improve further.

On a more philosophical point about Mazda’s role with rotary, he said: “It is an essential part of our DNA and it's just been passed onto future engineers. It is synonymous with the brand.”

Production of the engine now relies on further improvements to the rotary technology, particularly in ensuring it is now robust enough and reliable for mass production, and for Mazda to be on a stable financial footing to have the confidence to relaunch the technology. If achieved, a launch date of 2017 is mooted.

The upcoming jet fighter 2030

Yesterday, in broad but revealing terms, top Navy leaders described some of the capabilities that they want in tomorrow’s fighter.
Sailors conduct pre-flight checks on an F/A-18F Super Hornet assigned to Strike Fighter Squadron 41, aboard the USS John C. Stennis, on Sept. 12, 2011.
According to http://www.defenseone.com
First, a bit of background: The F-35 Joint Strike Fighter is often called the 5th Generation fighter. It also goes by F/A-XX or, more colloquially, the X Plane. The Navy first put out a requirement for the 6th Generation plane nearly seven years ago, in June 2008. The Air Force followed with its own F-X research program. In 2013, the Defense Advanced  Research Projects Agency, or DARPA, began a program to pull the two together. At the time, DARPA Director Arati Prabhakar said ”This is not a question about what does the next aircraft look like, this is a question about what are all the capabilities that it will take, layered together, in order to really comprehensively extend air superiority.”
Boeing have already unveiled concepts for what the fighter could look like (if they built it). BAE systems has also released some interesting artistic concepts featuring planes that can 3-D print their own replacement parts in the air and fold together multiple small drones into a single craft.Military leaders revealed more detail about what they actually want. In conversation with reporters at the Office of Naval Research’s Future Force Expo, in Washington, Adm. Mathias Winter, new chief of the Office of Naval Research, or ONR, named some of the key capabilities he wanted the plane to feature. They were: “full spectrum dominance, next generation advanced propulsion, and autonomous sensor payload integration.”

R36 Nissan GT-R

R36 Nissan GT-R
Sadly, according to a report from Motoring.com.au, whatever the next-generation Nissan GT-R is, we won't be seeing it for at least another five years.

Responding to a report that the GT-R's redesign had been delayed until 2018, Nissan Australia's managing director Richard Emery said, "To be honest the company is not even talking about it. We are close to the life cycle in terms of cars now and in the future. In terms of direct conversation around GT-R, it's not on the horizon."

He then followed that up by saying, "It's certainly not 2018, and I can't see it even in 2019. It's not on the product plan list for that period."

That would make the current GT-R more than 13 years old by the time it's replaced. The news would potentially make the Nissan Concept 2020's name more accurate than previously thought, but Emery didn't actually confirm that the R36 would be coming in 2020.

Mazda Planning a 450-hp, Twin-Turbo Rotary

Mazda Planning a 450-hp, Twin-Turbo Rotary
According to Motoring.com.au's source, the biggest news is that the 1.6-liter engine will be a hybrid turbo rotary engine. It will supposedly make at least 450 horsepower and use electric turbocharging to add power at low RPM while a conventional turbocharger would be used at higher RPM.
That could mean better fuel economy as well as more power. Combined with the use of weight-saving materials and a dual-clutch transmission, this driveline sounds like it would be fantastic.

Considering that this information is from an anonymous Mazda insider, it could easily turn out to be nothing more than wild speculation, but let's hope not. A 450-horsepower, twin-turbo rotary-powered Mazda sports coupe would be amazing.

The one of top warships of the world

The one of top warships of the world
The hi-tech warfare, with precision bombing and most sophisticated UAVs, warships still hold a special position in modern warfare. These ships have always played a crucial role in winning war and making strategic moves in naval warfare. Three-fourth of our earth is covered with great water bodies and naturally, these war beasts on the water would play a crucial role in any war of nations around the world.
Royal Navy battleship of the sixteenth century to the latest US Navy Iowa-class, warships over the years have passed through great evolution. Here, in this article, we would introduce top 5 warships of the world.
135396855193013822901601197_Charles_de_GaulleAmerica Class
This aircraft carrier is the only nuclear-powered warship, other than Nimitz class of USA. This carrier was first commissioned during 2001, at a cost of approximately USD 4 billion.  Charles de Gaulle initially suffered its own share of problems in the form of poor construction, high radioactivity and inadequate length of the flight deck. The ship is capable of carrying 40 fighter aircraft and can stay afloat for as long as 20 years before it needs refueling. The warship, having already taken part in major battles around the world including the Afganistan war against the Taliban, is one of the most sophisticated war dragons on the water.

The platform’s chief tank (T-14) sports an unmanned remotely controlled turret armed with a brand new 125 mm 2A82-1M smoothbore cannon. Its muzzle energy is greater than one of the world’s previously considered best cannons: the German Leopard-2 Rheinmetall 120 mm gun.

The 125 mm gun has 15-20 percent improved accuracy and its rolling fire angular dispersion has improved 1.7 times.

A 12.5 mm turret-mounted heavy machine gun is reportedly capable of taking out incoming projectiles, such as anti-tank missiles. It’s capable of neutralizing shells approaching at speeds of up to 3,000 meters per second.

The tank’s crew is securely enclosed in a multi-layer armored capsule separated from the ammunition container. The vehicle is fully computerized and only needs two servicemen to operate it. Each can also deploy the tank’s weapon systems.

The tank’s targeting is reportedly done with an active-phased array antenna and a large variety of other sensors.

The Armata platform allegedly has a fully mechanized electric transmission, powered by a 1,200 HP diesel engine. For greater efficiency, maintenance and repair schedules have been extended.

Within its blueprint, the Armata armored vehicle has the potential to evolve into a fully robotic battle vehicle.

According to preliminary estimates, 2,300 units are required for the Russian army.Continue Reading

Army T-72 MBT

Army T-72 MBT
In a recent article, the Asian Military Review has listed the major procurement and upgrade programs in the region.  Almost every regional power is investing in new tank forces.

For example, China currently fields approximately 8000 MBTs, 5000 of which are of the obsolete Type 59 – a Chinese produced version of the Soviet T-54, 55 series. However, the People’s Liberation Army has acquired around 700 of the advanced Type-99 MBTs. China is also working on a cost-efficient modern MBT, the MBT-3000, specifically designed for export to developing countries.

By 2020, India plans to procure 1657 Russian T-90 tanks (1000 of which will be build domestically under a technology agreement with Russia), enough for 59 tank regiments. In addition, India will upgrade its 1900 strong T-72 MBT force, and will continue to build indigenous third generation MBTs (the Arjun MKI and MKII).

Japan is currently downsizing its tank fleet of Mitsubishi Type 90 MBTs to 400, but it will add 68 new Mitsubishi Type 10 MBTs – a lighter and more agile tank better suitable for urban combat, the type of warfare that the Japan Self-Defense Forces are most likely to face in the defense of Japan.

The backbone of the South Korean tank forces are the Hyundai KI and KIAI MBTs. General Dynamics has assisted South Korea in upgrading this fleet of 1500. The military also aims to acquire 397 new K2 Black Panther MBTs, currently being developed by Hyundai.

Other Asia-Pacific countries have also gone on a tank buying spree: Indonesia is projected to receive the last of 104 German Leopard 2A6 MBTs by 2016, Bangladesh has ordered 44 Chinese MBT-2000s, Thailand is expected to purchase up to 200 MBTs in the years ahead, and Pakistan aims to increases its MBT force from 300 to 600 in the near future. Finally, Taiwan aims to replace its aging tank fleet and might purchase the M1A1 Abrams from the United States. Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam, while currently not planning to expand their MBT fleets, are nevertheless gradually upgrading existing forces.Continue Reading

Subaru Impreza Sedan Concept

The Subaru Impreza Five-Door concept debuted at the 2015 Tokyo Auto Show, but we have had to wait to see what Subaru has put together for the Impreza Sedan Concept. After seeing the Five-Door Concept, we speculated that the sedan would share a lot of the same design queues as the Impreza Five-Door Concept. Our speculations were dead on, as the cars do share the same front end, but the sedan still has a look all its own. That gentle slope to the rear end and the bright red finish really makes the sedan stand out a lot more that the five-door variant ever did. So, now that the sheet has been pulled off the new sedan, let’s take a deeper look at this exciting new concept.
